A MNLA delegation has been received by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
On Friday, 14th of December 2012, a delegation of the MNLA headed by its General Secretary, M. Bilal Ag Acherif, has been received in Abuja by M. Goodluck Jonathan, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and associate mediator of the ECOWAS for the conflict opposing the Malian authorities and the MNLA.
The meeting concerned:
- - The necessary negotiations with Malian government to find a final solution to a conflict lasting for more than 50 years.
- - The commitment of MNLA in the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking.
- - The safety of Sahel area.
- - The crucial humanitarian problems occurring in Azawad and in refugees camps in the neighboring countries caused by the terrorist activities and the movements of a helpless population.
The delegation has been comforted by the determination of the Nigerian authorities and their understanding of the situation. The two parties expressed their will to cooperate for the best interest of population.
